There are your art books, source books, fan books, how-to-draw books, fashion guides, character guides, anime episode guides, how-to-learn-Japanese guides, Jason Thompson’s Guide; essays and analysis on manga, anime, and pop culture; a couple of books on drawing comics which deal with manga only peripherally but which are so good I like to include them anyway —
There is a lot of stuff here that isn’t manga and isn’t even fiction. It’s all good stuff.
