Helllloooo, Nurse!

Yokai Doctor vol 2. Del Rey, available 25 Aug or thereabouts, $11, isbn 9780345512390

Hey, Dallas, if you wanted me to read this series, you should have put this Naasu-chan on the cover to vol 1. Like much of the fan base, I’m not a complicated guy. And from this cover I can tell, first, that this series has nurses in it (or at least one nurse) and second, it must be a supernatural series.

Because common cotton uniform fabric?
…usually doesn’t do that.

p.s.: apparently her name is Kotoko, if that makes a difference to you. ;P

  1. and another note on the uniform.

    —excuse me a moment, folks.

Mom, if you’re reading this, it’d be best to stop here.

    —thanks.

…anyway, the crease that would appear across the chest of Kotoko if she were wearing a normal uniform comes from the cloth straining to contain both erect nipples such that they distend the fabric at two points and create the crease.

Given that Sato-sensei has chosen to depict this particular uniform in Superhero-Spandex-Boobsock style, & given that there is no expanse of fabric ‘cross the cleavage presented, the nipples should form points.

The presence of a crease that suggests nipples without showing them is inappropriately presented in the image above. That is to say, there is no way the fabric behaves like that with only a single [*cough*] anchor point and no observable acting force to stretch the fabric in the direction presented.

That is to say: boobs don’t work like that.

I can submit the math and diagrams to prove this point if necessary.

if I win the lottery, Bradley Schenck will be getting a pile of cash to redesign this site from scratch.

In my head, I sound like Yahtzee (quite a feat, given my inherited U.S.-flat-midwestern-accent.)

where I start my browsing day...

...and one source I trust for reviews, reports, and opinion on manga specifically...

...and where my casual browsing usually ends, past the research for various articles that I have to do each day.

Note: NSFW. Icarus, best described as "the Thinking Man's Porn Manga." Simon does me the undeserved favor of dropping free review copies my way, which I have callously ignored to date. Simon's blog is also a must-read, for a look at the manga industry from a small indy publisher's perspective. Plus, porn.
